A Call from the Balcony – Coming Down

We’re sitting on the balcony and it is 9:30am. We have been climbing since 7pm yesterday. We have summitted. Todd Pendleton and myself have summitted. Daniel had to turn back. Some say that coming to Everest brings out the very best in a person. Many times during this climb I have thought of my longtime friend, Warren Thompson. To me and to many others, he represents what a person should be. Warren has done many things for me in my life. This I can do for you. I dedicate this summit success to you, Warren Thompson my friend. Standing on the summit of Everest I felt that I could see the whole world. It was amazing. To Katie my wife, I love you. I am ok. Thank you for believing in me. I am coming home.
